The author was tripped when Alexander Cockburn, then press critic at the Village Voice, noted that Mr. Jones ripped off Andre Malraux's The Royal Way with his description of being left with the image of an old Cambodian strumming on his guitar.

1985, the NYT Magazine print an article on the "new" scholarship on the Vietnam War. (I'm a parent volunteer member of the committee that oversees our district Wellness Policy.)

I pushed it to the point that an editor actually had to directly tell me (paraphrasing): No, we don't think that's significant enough to correct.

The day I got the e-mail from that editor, the NYT ran a correction on this: They had misspelled the name of the cosmetics line Helena Rubinstein, spelling it Rubenstein. This leaped out at me as my husband's and kids' last name is Rubenstein -- and showed just what they DO view as "significant" enough to correct.carolinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08127336930949752636noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2586988941850907367.post-5581765428973030522011-04-24T22:42:46.686-04:002011-04-24T22:42:46.686-04:00Good lord.
