Wow, it's interesting that Leonie and company grade Mayor de Blasio as a complete and utter failure in education. Maybe he'll be defeated -- with help from Leonie and company -- and we can have a new Mayor with the "reform" tendencies of Mayor Bloomberg who embraces the charter school movement that de Blasio has been holding to a measure of truthfulness.
ReplyDeleteAs a public school parent, I'm very disappointed and disillusioned that by not seeing a single good thing about public education under de Blasio you are working so hard to defeat him and returning us to the era of a Bloomberg reformer. You are grading de Blasio against some ideal as opposed to seeing that he IS working toward those goals instead of directing money to privatizers who have no need to serve all NYC public school students. I don't find this kind of report card helpful to anyone but the pro-charter folks desperate to defeat a Mayor who has supported public schools instead of charters. You characterized de Blasio as a complete and utter failure whom no public school parent in his right mind should be re-electing. Was that your intention? Because that may very well be the result because you only want to see the bad and your 100% negative characterization would lead anyone to vote him out of office and return to a Bloomberg clone (or much worse) instead.
