You can't teach without discipline.
Instead, the DOE has the nerve to blame teachers for not motivating these recalcitrants. Teachers are not song and dance people.
Throwing huge somes of money into this failing system will not help. Why? The students are so disruptive that they are beyond control.
Let's start disciplining youngsters by bringing back the 600 schools.
While it is sad to say, school is not for everyone. Those pupils who cannot cope in an educational environment need to be shown alternative ways. We need trade schools.
Violently disruptive pupils belong in jail. Upon leaving their cushy jobs, Klein, Weingarten and others should commit to teaching in our SURR schools. If it's good enough for the abused teaching staff in this city, it's good enough for them.Zollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00326256851366769568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2586988941850907367.post-38268013788814081752008-05-13T15:45:00.000-04:002008-05-13T15:45:00.000-04:00Through no fault of their own, teachers were exces...Through no fault of their own, teachers were excessed from their schools due to a drop in student population. Many of these people taught for a number of years and were quite good as pedagogues. Now, they have been relegated to substitute status and are miserable.
Why not put these people back in the classroom? This would lower registers.
Instead, the DOE would like to terminate them instead. This is further proof of the importance of tenure.Zollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00326256851366769568noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2586988941850907367.post-46185762605446413182008-05-11T14:34:00.000-04:002008-05-11T14:34:00.000-04:00We could solve the problems of overcrowding by doi...We could solve the problems of overcrowding by doing the following:
1.Every duly licensed teacher goes back to the classroom to teach. Too many people have out-of-the classroom jobs and unfortunately people have been excessed from their schools and relegated to substitute status.
2. Unload the disruptive student by the recreation of the 600 school concept.Zollyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00326256851366769568noreply@blogger.com
