“What’s to stop him?” said the source. “As soon as Hillary Clinton lost the Democratic nomination, she gave a speech saying she won. Michael Bloomberg’s got a lot more money than she does. Why can’t he take it a step further and have a bunch of PR people convince everyone that he’s actually still Mayor?”
J. Fredrick Runson, head of the Manhattan University Political Science Department and a long time observer of the NY City political scene, told GBN News that the idea may not be so far fetched. “After all,” said Professor Runson, “he’s been pretty much above the law all along. He ignores the City Council, defies State class size mandates, gives out no-bid contracts. All he needs is a reputable paper like the NY Times to buy into the idea like they bought into his school reforms. It won’t take much more than that to get the public to accept it.”
