Commissioner King and Merryl Tisch, head of the board of Regents, are finally coming to hear from NYC parents on their controversial education agenda, after already appearing at 14 forums in the rest of the state.
Unfortunately, they have given us only one week of warning and will hold only three forums over two nights: Tuesday Dec. 10 in The Bronx and Brooklyn; and Wednesday Dec. 11 in Manhattan. Here and below are the locations and times.
PLEASE come and let your voice be heard at one of these forums, and let these all-powerful state officials know how you feel about the Common Core, testing and privacy, including their plan to share the personal information for all public school students in the state with inBloom Inc. -- the only state in the country that hasn't yet pulled out of this project.
Here is a flyer you can post in your schools for Manhattan and Brooklyn; Bronx is coming soon.

To get in, do you just have to show up, or sign up in advance of these forums?
P.S. That Bloomberg countdown to the right is so exciting.
Need parents any more proof that Common Core is deadening that the treating children like robots or trained animals video?
And it's actually on the Engageny website:

Go to your nearest King/Tisch tour site this week!
Pogue I don't think you need to sign up in advance to speak. I agree its exciting to count down the days.
You DO have to get there early to sign up to speak; only 45 speakers will be allowed to sign up and given 2 minutes each. Sign up starts about half hour before the event.
Anybody know which BUILDING or room Commissioner King will be in at Medgar Evers? This campus has multiple buildings, blocks apart. I called the regents public affairs for info, but no response thus far. I can't believe they didn't even bother to put down an address for the Medgar Evers event, most especially given the way the campus is laid out.
