million in cuts to education that could be prevented if the DOE cut unnecessary
bureaucracy and contracts instead.

education next year by eliminating unnecessary spending on DOE bureaucracy and
contracts.

Some of this unnecessary spending includes $700
million for busing that is not being used this year, $200 million of which
will be voted on during Wednesday’s Panel for Educational Policy meeting.
